Ugh, finally >.> My fourth and final ao no exorcist OC for the huge diabolical plot I've been planning between Renata Diya, Lamia, Mia Pyon, Vladislav Vikenti, Frisco Sandego, and now, finally, Rocket!
Now that I have the characters up, I get to write the extremely long story! Yayyyy, I'm bursting with ecstatic joy.
By the time I'm done this main story plot, I'm sure many of you will start to like characters like Renata and Lamia less and Rocket more. I won't spoil anything though, so you heard nothing from me
The reason Arthur can see an angel is because just as demons have spirit wounds, angels have an aura that once someone has been enveloped in it, they can see that one angel that did so. This also works on objects such as clothes. (This way, people don't see floating clothes moving around).
Rocket originally came to Arthur naked (if you read the bible, the only reason Adam and Eve realized they were "naked" was because they ate the forbidden fruit. Thus, Rocket doesn't realize his "inappropriate attire"). This is why Arthur buys him a hoodie and a casual pair of pants. Even upon doing this, Arthur barely lets him leave the Vatican because Rocket is not in control of his aura and random people may suddenly begin to see him.
More info (since there are probably a lot of unexplained holes and things) will be released upon either someone asking questions or through the story I'm doing with my OCs.
Now that's out of the way, read on for his character sheet!~
Name: None - nicknamed "Rocket" by Arthur Auguste Angel for his strange and inexplicable obsession with this candy. Race: A Messenger Angel. - No known ethnicity. However, his tanned skin makes others guess that he is Latino of some-sort. He is at the bottom of the angel hierarchy. Birthday: N/A Age: N/A (He's fairly young for an angel, however.) Gender: Male Height: 5'10" Weight: 151lbs Eyes: Bright baby blue Hair: White Blood Type: N/A Affiliation: Rocket is currently only on Assiah to aid Arthur, the paladin, in convicting Vladislav Vikenti. Appearance: Rocket has white hair cut in a boyish cut. He wears a rocket candy-based hoodie that Arthur bought for him, and he has vowed to never take it off. He equips a rocket-candy hairclips (meant for girls, but purchased anyways). He also wears casual pants. In general, Rocket prefers casual clothes rather than dressing in extravagance. Personality: Easily excitable and extremely energetic. Heck, he takes everything to the extreme. You wouldn't guess it, but he's daring (in a stupidly courageous way). He hasn't had official training under the wing of an archangel yet, so he doesn't act with all virtues and retains a somewhat human-like presence. It doesn't help that he considers himself as "awesome" and get's upset when others disagree. Overall, he's childish and adorable, and you feel compelled to laugh with him. He's curious with everything on Assiah and asks many questions. Abilities: Nothing special, but on will, can summon up an ancient spear that most beginner angels start out with. He can dodge attacks easily, but has trouble being on the offensive. Weaknesses: His personality and eagerness to trust everyone is his ultimate weakness. He also doesn't like to fight, not even demons (angels are not hateful beings), and refuses to bring out his spear. An overall easy target.
Renata Diya, Mia Pyon, Lamia, and Rocket belong to Vladislav Vikenti and Frisco Sandego belong to An adoptable bought off *MooseFroos
Very cute! But, how exactly would being an angel work? He wouldn't have a corporeal body since he's from "heaven," I'm assuming, unless he was somehow physically born on Earth? That or he must possess a human like the demons would, though I imagine that would go against pretty much everything he'd stand for since he'd be suppressing a fellow intelligent being.
Also, how does he join up with Angel? I like that idea of him being his sort-of assistant, but what's his motivation and how do they meet? XDDD
Omg, thank you for commenting again I really need someone like you to help me develop my characters more x'DDD
Alright, well, since I'm of Catholic belief, anything I say will be ultimately biased on how my religion views this.
You know how humans were made in the likeness of God? So are angels. They're unlike demons, because they already are made in the likeness of God and have body that resembles a human's. That's how I see it. Besides, God is omnipotent. I'd assume his will be done, and if He sent Rocket to help out Arthur, then it shall be done in the way He wants. So yeah, I assumed nobody would listen to a creature naming themselves an angel, and many renaissance painters portrayed angels as human-like. I'm not sure wherem but in the bible, they're human-like as well.
Alright, well, he joins up with Angel because he was sent to help him convict Vladislav Vikenti (a full demon infiltrating the Vatican). The Gregori won't listen to Arthur's words alone because there is overwhelming evidence against Vladislav being "evil". In fact, they believe he is only a half-demon (as Izumo stated there are half-demon exorcists). The meeting part is awkward xD I'd copy and pasta an excerpt from the story, but since its subject to change, I'll just summarize it. Arthur places Vladislav on trial (for like, the 5th time), and loses. Frustrated, he heads back to his quarters to sit and think quietly. Now picture this: when he enters the room, there is a naked boy just sitting there on the floor (because with the Adam and Eve story, without the fruit of knowledge that only the humans consumed, they would have not known they were naked). Of course, at this point, Arthur is in disbelief when the boy speaks, saying he's here on the behalf of God to assist him. While Rocket is rambling on to the shocked Arthur, he mentions knowing Vladislav from back in Gehenna. This spikes Angel's interest, and promises to keep Rocket around only to aid him against Vladislav.
Ah well, in Catholic canon (well, Roman Catholic, since that's what I was formerly and know most about), demons were former angels. They only became demons when cast out of heaven and condemned to the sinful world (Earth) and hell. The gist of what I'm saying is, since demons and angels and humans all belong in three separate worlds, each being would need to obtain a body in that world in order to enter it. Such as demons possessing humans, and humans leaving their physical bodies and gaining a spiritual body when entering heaven/hell. And angels are primarily portrayed in art as human-like, but the majority of them are not human-like, discounting I believe the archangels, though they may look different as well. Such as, seraphim are often described as covered in light or on fire and having six wings and eagle heads. Cherubim often have multiple heads (mostly animal, like bulls, eagles, lions, etc.) and look more like chimera than those cute little diaper-wearing babies in paintings! Maybe identify what type of angel he is (I wouldn't reccommend making him an archangel) since different types of angels have different types of jobs.
Also, is he 200 years old in angel years or human years? If that makes sense haha. Essentially, all of the angels that ever existed were created at the same time, if you're going by biblical canon--the same with all of the demons. Since it's obvious in AnE that demons can breed with humans, I imagine angels should be able to as well, so it wouldn't be out of place for an angel-human hybrid, though I believe all angels are either male (in appearance) or genderless.
But I adore his appearance! He's sooo cute XDDD. How does he fight? Like, does he use a flaming sword or like, shoot beams from his eyes or something?
"That's what I was formerly" oh, you lost your faith? That's sad.
Well, if demons are based off of the interpretations of humans, why can't angels be based of the interpretations of humans? xD
Since angels are composed of ethereal matter I assumed they can take on whichever physical form best suits their immediate needs. As I said earlier, you wouldn't take a fluffy creature nor a scary beast's words. Rocket took a random human form so that if seen in the Vatican, no one would question it. Speaking of "seeing", 'cause I'm sure eventually this is going to be asked, you can only see Rocket if he allows you to see him (however, being just partially or full demon grants you the ability to seem him as well). This is because generally when angels appear to someone, only that person can see them.
Rocket is anything but an archangel. I put up there somewhere that he had "yet to train under the wing of an archangel" meaning, he's still a beginner (that's up there somewhere as well). If you'd prefer it, I could specify it in the description for you *u* Although, there's no more specific than "angel" I can do. I labeled him as only an "angel" for a reason, rather than a seraphim or cherubim. Here, this will explain it a little more. [link] (Yeah I know wikipedia isn't a credible source, but it's the main source I use xD )
You see, I just flipped up an age in a whim. In all honesty, I'm not sure what kind of years that is in, but its probably angel. If demons derive from angels that disobey the will of God, there must've been many fallen angels. Who will replace these lost angels? I'm sure they would have to be replaced by something.
Even if angels had the ability to breed, which I highly doubt, I don't think any angel would It's hard to explain, but you know how priests don't get married usually? How they legitimately devote their lives to their faith? I don't think any angel would fall under temptation or lust when given a task as a messenger or WHATEVER by God. I don't think they'd risk it. The moment they give in to human temptation, they become a fallen angel. They've basically made way for Satan's ways. Also, angels are kind of ambiguous with gender, as they can be any physical form they need, I don't think it's easy for them to... er... "breed" xD That's how I see it.
Thank you ;w; He's meant to be adorable.
Um, he fights with an ancient spear, but then again, I can hardly call it fighting. He almost never resorts to violence. Never. (Except when called for it, like Vladislav and Renata. Although with Vlad, it's verbal fighting, and mostly coming from Vlad's side x'D)
Lool, shooting beams from his eyes. That's hilarious xDDDDD
I renounced it because I abhor organized religion and religion in general. But yeh XDDD Won't go into that in detail lol.
Demons aren't based off of humans? Art depicts them, some times, as human-like creatures, but in true biblical canon, they're just as monstrous as angels, more so actually since they've been corrupted. And I'm preeeetty sure man was the only creature made in the image of God, which is what makes him so uber special.
Right, so if they're ethereal, how can they take on a physical form? Two totally different sources of matter. He wouldn't be able to interact with the physical world, only things that are on the same plane as him. And that's totally fine if he takes a human form--I'm just saiyan that generally, only archangels are truly shaped like people. So I'm assuming you're meaning that, while he may look human, he has his true form that isn't human-like? If so, I can't wait to see that!
Wouldn't people who have been attacked by demons be able to see him as well?
Well, considering God is supposedly omniscient, he would have already known that Lucifer would rebel with 1/3 of his angels, so he would have already made the exact amount needed in order for 1/3 to leave and have him remaining with the other 2/3 because he knew he would need that exact number since he already knows he'll be left with 2/3 of the angels. If that makes sense XD. Basically, all the angels ever were created at one time, no more. If he wanted to create more after the rebels were cast out of heaven, he would have already made them in the beginning with the others. Maybe he could age differently than other angels? Like I said, there are many different types, so I'm sure they all mature at different rates. But I mean, what caste is he, I guess. What does he specialize in?
Ah, well, angels are able to procreate. Remember, sex wasn't initially a sin They're called Nephilim, but they're supposed to be like, giants. I can't really remember my lessons on the Torah, but I think there's a reference to them somewhere in Genesis 4 or 6. And angels obviously aren't perfect, as evidenced by how many ditched heaven to go chill in hell XDDD
He is! Soooo cute. You chose a great OC to adopt!
Ooooh, cool! And that's really neat that he's a pacifist! It's pretty unique, for an angel, I think.
How is his relationship with Angel, by the way? I find it interesting that Angel would put up with anyone much less a celestial being since he's, well, anything but angelic. I'm interested to see how Rocket manages to absolve Angel of his douchiness.
Ah, don't worry, I was just curious as to why you renounced your religion. I don't mind, it doesn't make me think any less of you.
/le total brain fart
No no, I meant, they're based off of what humans perceive them as, not generally "based off of humans" xD
[link] <--- It says in about the second paragraph that they can take any "physical" form, so I just followed on that. Also, these quotes (on the same page) "They are usually portrayed as having a human form" and "There are cases, however, where angels appeared as ordinary men and were mistaken as such (the story of Lot, for instance)". The site seemed pretty legit to me /orz
I suppose so, since they're called "spirit wounds" and technically angels are just "spirits". Valid point. I'll add that in
Oh no, that makes total sense. I'll have to mull that over, 'cause all he really is there for is to assist Angel and be an "antagonist" in my AnoE story plot (only antagonist since Renata is the "protagonist", and has nothing to do with "good" or "bad" sides).
Well, sex may not be a sin, but if anything, I don't think angels would procreate with such flawed creatures if you get what I'm trying to say. All I know is, I won't get into detail with sex, because Rocket refrains from it, so there's no mention of it in the story I searched up "Nephilim", but I don't really understand it. It keeps saying "sons of God"... God only had one legitimate son
"chill in hell" lmao that sounds hilarious.
I'm sure most angels are pacifists? xD Maybe not the archangels, but angels are usually just messengers and don't really fight. But thank you anyways for the compliment
Strained to say the least xD Rocket is very open. He sees the good in everyone and everything, including demons like Vladislav and Lamia. So even if Arthur is openly a "douche" to everyone, Rocket feels like there is good intentions in that, and he admires how well he serves the True Cross and the Vatican. They start off rocky, with the fact that Arthur doesn't even really acknowledge the presence of Rocket at first. However, with time, as Rocket begins to prove himself more useful (finding small bits of evidence against Vlad here and there), Arthur thinks of just using him to get to where he wants. Of course near the end of my plot, when Rocket knows he'll have to leave back to heaven soon, he and Arthur become somewhat more closer. They're kind of like friends, except one is using the other :/ He grows fond of Rocket because he's trying so hard just to help him in any way.
Although personally, I love Arthur to death, so I don't see him as much of a douchebag as anyone else sees him. It seems like everyone who just lurves Mephisto doesn't like him that much
Yeh, haha. I don't think any less of people who have a belief--it's just not my thing XD. As far as I'm concerned, if I have faith in myself, that's good enough for me.
Ahh gotcha. I wasn't sure if you were going off of biblical canon or AnE canon, since AnE seems to be an amalgamation of all belief systems. So in the AnE canon, it'd make sense for them to follow along the same rules as demons, but if you're doing a biblical basis, then I guess that's ok? I wouldn't know for sure since I'm definitely not the mangaka, but he's your OC so you have the ultimate say XD
Yep, I gotcha. It's just that they did, at least in like, the days of Noah. I think Lilith might have had some Nephilim offspring as well, I don't quite remember But I get what you're saying haha. And I think it's more of a theoretical term than a literal. Like, I guess you could consider everything a son or daughter of God, since he created everything. And I know a lot of sects don't believe in the triumvirate (which was what I was taught to believe in, but I digress) and others don't believe in the literal separation of the three. What I'm assuming the "sons of god" label means is angels breeding with humans, as angels generally reside in heaven, with God, so they'd naturally be closer (literally and emotionally) to him. Daughters of man would simply mean the offspring of people.
XDDD. Even funnier since many religions (even Christianity, in the beginning) depict hell as a cold place as opposed to all fire and brimstone
Awww, what a sweetheart! It sucks that he's stuck with Angel, but I guess it's a good thing he can tolerate anyone!
Haha! I looove Angel. He's such a magnificent asshole (and I mean that affectionately, of course). My friends were kind of surprised that I liked him at first, but then again, they know what type of guy I like so it wasn't all that shocking XD. Why would Mephisto-lovers not like Angel? I'm the type that easily hates characters and their creators if they aren't well developed or have stupid shit like random powers or backstories that make absolutely no sense, and I find it difficult to dislike any character in AnE, which is really rare for me.
